Description of project: This 2-story structure and tower were constructed for the world’s fair decades ago. The 160-foot tall tower is a Richmond icon and the centerpiece of the campus of Virginia Union University. The existing building was renovated into a state-of-the -art theatre, while the tower recieved a facelift.
Services performed: General Contractor-Interior renovations included structural steel, metal stairs, gypsum drywall, stage rigging, portable seating risers, fines, and extenstive electrical, mechanical, and lighting systems. The tower work included demolition of exterior finish, metal wall framing attached to a steel structure, installation of exterior finish insulation system.
